If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?
Psalm 11:3
Foundation for Educational Leadership (FEL) assists families, churches, and schools in the area of Christian education and family discipleship. What is family discipleship? It is the process by which parents assist God in bringing their children to spiritual, emotional, and physical maturity so that they can become mature adults who are able to work in the context of the family, the body of Christ, and the community to advance God's kingdom until He comes. While academic education is not specifically mentioned in this process, it is everywhere included. Modern education seeks to separate the teaching of academics from the development of the total life. The Bible teaches that success in life depends on much more than academic achievement, it requires character, vocational, and domestic skills which are best taught in the context of the family. Education that does not center on the family, and focus on character development, regardless of the location (home, private school, or public school), will fall short of true Biblical discipleship.

Why You Should Financially Support FEL
Just as a superintendent of a school district coordinates and directs educators in a community, it is helpful to have a person who coordinates the many resources available to home educators in our area. Your donations to FEL make it possible for our President, Cory Bennett, to respond to families, the media, government, and education officials. His ability to oversee the entire network frees up others to focus on the detailed needs of local home educators in 18 East Tennessee counties.
Cory serves and equips the leaders who support home education in your local support group and community. In addition, he mentors and equips administrators who direct homeschool umbrella programs in local church related schools. He also works with church leaders to help them develop affordable Christian education. FEL can only focus on these efforts when it has the finances to run the ministry. Support for FEL means greater strength and stability in our present homeschool movement and helps insure strong leadership for future home educators.
FEL is primarily supported by individual families rather than by groups. When a group of 10-50 families sends a monthly group amount it may only amount to one or two dollars per family. This method simply is not adequate to cover expenses. Therefore, we ask you to personally consider investing in FEL on a monthly basis. If each of the many hundreds of families we serve contributes $10-$25 per month to FEL we can continue to meet the needs of home educators in the Smoky Mountain area... more
